This book is a scaled down version of the Children's Travel Activity Book & Journal (Bumper Edition) - My Trip to Alaska. There are no puzzles in this book., however there are pages to list the names and addresses of people you'd like to mail post cards too and pages titled, "What I want to do before I go", "What I want to see and do on our trip" and "What I want to bring on my trip." It is also smaller in size...6" x 9" vs 8" x 9".It has a very simple layout...space for recording the date, weather, "what we did today", "Some food I ate", and "What I liked Best" along with an area to draw a picture of something that you did that day. There are 14 of these sets of pages, enough for a two-week trip. At the end, there is a lined page titled "Things I will remember from our trip."Very simple layout but enough for a younger child...not overwhelming to have to do.Not sure it is worth the price.

Other than the cover that says "Thailand", there was nothing that made this journal specific to that vacation destination. Every page contained the same few items for kids to report on, and it looked worse than if the pages had been printed from a Word document and assembled into a book. We didn't use this item at all; instead, we used the Kids Travel Guide to Thailand- much more worth the money. I had hoped to return the item, but unfortunately it's past the time that it can be returned. I would NOT recommend this journal to anyone.

This is a total rip-off. Except for the little cloud on the front cover, there is nothing in this mentioning Disneyland. It's a thin notebook of cheap paper, with black and white pages for making lists and drawing pictures. The only color is on the covers. I'm certain that this is sold as a journal for every place people travel, with the word Disneyland on the cloud changed. It is nothing like its description. I'm returning it. I spent a little more and got what I wanted. This sure wasn't it.

I was even more pleased with this once I saw it. Small enough to tuck in a carryon entertainment bag. Has pages at the beginning to write what the child hopes to see when they get there. Separate page for each day to record what they did with space for their own illustration or to glue in a post card. My just-finished-1st-grade grandson is traveling to Alaska this summer and this will provide a perfect place to do a little writing, a little drawing, include postcards or photos, and have a mini scrapbook of his trip when he is done. Love it!

I was excited to purchase a fun travel journal for my daughter to use on our upcoming trip to Cancun. Unfortunately, the journal is very generic and not Cancun related at all. In fact, the only place that says "Cancun" is the cover. The journal pages are plain and generic with "what I did today" and "draw something you saw today" for 14 days. It is a waste of money. I'm disappointed it was not more fun and Cancun specific.

71 pages long. The front of the book is lined and guides some list making, the back is blank if you wish to continue journaling. Each day of your trip (up to day 14) offers your child a chance to write about the day and the next page page allows space for drawing. Interesting idea, but I was hoping for a bit more. Honestly, I could create this myself in about 30 minutes with a notebook and a just a few writing prompts.

I wish they would have show an example of a page, in order to gauge the age group this was geared toward. This is much too young for my 9 y.o. daughter. Will return and order a different one. For younger kids this seems to be good. Not too overwhelming - lots of drawing space. Simple design. Geared more towards 5 yo’s in my opinion.

My Mother wanted. a travel journal, for my 7 yr old niece who was going to Germany. The return trip was through NYC, where they would stay a few days. This is the cutest little journal and is great for allowing the child's personal thoughts.

This was the only thing I use to study for my LPN and I passed!!!!! with a minimum of 85 questions I only did the practice questions in the back of the chapter. I did not read the whole book and I did a couple of the online practice test through the book. I studied for a week and a half and prayed like crazy to God !!! So in a nut shell I really liked this book and would recommend it to everyone.

There is no reason you shouldn't pass the NCLEX PN if you read this book from front to back. I passed with 85 Qs :-) Unfortunately because of limited time, I was only able to read the first 33 chapters. For the last 2 weeks before my exam, I just did the online questions. This helped because the rationales are very detailed. You get a mini lesson in each question. To save a lot of stress, I recommend reading this while in nursing school because the detailed content review will help on the exams in nursing school as well. I wish I had used this book to study for my exams in nursing school, would've saved a lot of time and stress. It would also cut down on study time after you graduate so you can take the exam quickly. Also, doing as many practice Qs as possible will also help. Good luck!

Passed the test on my first try using this book. As other reviewers have said, it stopped at the minimum questions for me too. After I took the test, I realized what the LPN and probably what the RN looks to test in a good nurse : prioritization, medication, side effects, and recognizing what's happening to your patient and what you should do as a result. That realization alone am sure will help me pass the RN-NCLEX in January.

Amazing NCLEX-PN study guide! Make sure to utilize the access code on the inside of the cover, best thing ever! It has a comprehensive pre-assessment to help gage your strengths and weaknesses and develops a study plan. I started studying the first week of January and my test was Jan. 23, 2018. Im proud to share that I did the least amount of questions (85) with 3 hours to spare! My license was active the same afternoon in WA state! This is the best one by far. I perused through Kaplan and returned it the next day, Saunder’s is truly the best!

Their questions were so much harder than the Nclex which prepared me very well. I did 100 questions a day I did like 200/400 of their select all that apply. I did this with a nclex pn blue print and passed with minimum questions.

Just took my boards and pass with only 85 questions... All I use to study was this book, and its online questions... Even though most of question where select all that apply and drugs, this book taught me alot on process of eliminating.. Also I highly suggest no one to try to memorize any drugs its almost impossible because you never no what drug you will be giving, but do know the ending of your drugs such as Dine, Ole, and what not and what category they go under...

I passed my NCLEX-PN in one go. I suggest people who are in the program buy it and make notes on the book. The most helpful part was the practice exams they come with. Some of the questions were on the test (just words slightly changed).

I passed my NCLEX-PN In 75 questions. Between this book and Hurst Review! I didn't feel scared or lost for a second while taking that exam. I have been trying to learn about the Hadoop/NoSQL world for the last few months, and have found myself getting really frustrated at the lack of a source which presents a clear big picture. No matter where I looked, I was just overwhelmed by minutiae, and the arguments of zillion people advocating their own favorite new technology.No more! The authors of this book present a wonderful, accessible, product-agnostic introduction to the world of NoSQL. The book first covers the four major kinds of NoSQL databases (key-value, document, column family and graph) via a highly practitioner-oriented comparative study. It then goes into various scalability issues and trade-offs, including distribution models, CAP theorem and its implications, an introduction to Map-reduce and so on. This book has demystified much of NoSQL for me and made it seem quite common-sensical.If you are new to the Hadoop-NoSQL world, this is the book to start with before delving into any specific technology or jargon. I think that after this high-level introduction, a deep-dive using a book like 'Seven Databases in Seven Weeks' is a logical next step.

The authors state in the preface that the aim of this book is to give one enough information on whether NoSQL technology makes sense for a given project and if so which tool to explore in more depth. After reading through the book from cover to cover, I think the authors have achieved their goal. The first part of the book is about understanding NoSQL while the second is devoted to implementation. This book is very well written and it's quite an engaging read. Different data distribution models, consistency, transactions are all covered in significant detail in the first half of the book which is a major value add - anyone who has worked in an enterprise application environment can easily relate to the problems and proposed solutions as well as limitations of each. The second half typically focuses on one particular implementation in a given category of NoSQL and shares more detail on how to interact with it as well as when it is (and when it is not) appropriate to use a tool. The chapter on polyglot persistence shows some of the ways in which an organization can leverage multiple tools effectively at the increased cost of complexity, deployment and maintenance. Even though this book is about NoSQL, the authors include a chapter on Beyond NoSQL where file systems, event sourcing and other alternatives are discussed. The book closes out on selecting the tool for a given project by giving some ideas on how to do this while recognizing the immature nature of NoSQL field. This book is a great starting point for anyone with no background in NoSQL. For those who have some experience with NoSQL, the main value addition would be that the information as well as ideas on NoSQL are summarized in a single place.

This book does a good job of explaining NoSQL much better than any web site or blog I have read on the subject. The authors go into just enough detail to describe what NoSQL is, the problems it is designed to address, and how to make the tradeoffs between SQL and NoSQL in a real system.This is a short book: if you want an exhaustive reference, look elsewhere. The stated goal of this book in the preface is to provide a quick overview of NoSQL to include the four types of databases, the overall structure of each, their strengths and weaknesses, to an audience of software developers who understand how to design SQL database schemas and ORM mappings (i.e. you know how database tables correlate with program classes and objects).If you have at least a year of experience with SQL databases, ORM, etc. and need a primer on NoSQL, this is the book for you. If you need an exhaustive reference, detailed information, or an in-depth example of setting up an application with NoSQL, this is NOT the book for you. If you need a quick readme on NoSQL in general to get up to speed for a project, this book will be a good resource. It contains all the essential information and is a short, quick read.

This is, to my surprise, a really solid little book. TLDR; it covers what you need and introduces a mix of formal and common-usage terminology to help you ask the right questions to do something with the information. Highly recommended.Technology books are the bane of my existence - they're expensive, riddled with inconsistent quality of information, and usually out of date before they even reach print. This book is one of those rare exceptions. It clearly shows both academic integrity and has all the right hallmarks of practical usage and experience - and in around 150 pages gets you up to speed, an amazing feat of selective focus for a topic as potentially broad as this. As with quite a few of the Martin Fowler books, it reflects awareness of the industry and history of the technologies at play - useful for getting a flavor for why things are as they are - and Pramod Sadalage has done a good job putting this across.The material builds very quickly from general discussion (what is NoSQL, and what is it not) into defining a set of criteria you can apply (as an architect, technologist, or developer) to understand what might work for your projects and how to begin assessing the cost/benefit/risk associated. The rest of the book is dedicated to providing insight into the behavioral models and key concepts for taking advantage of each of the "NoSQL" options discussed - including where you might want to stick with good old relational database persistence.If you haven't played with NoSQL, are curious about it, or are hitting scalability issues with your database projects, this book provides a wealth of insight and ways to help get you up to speed with the ideas driving the movement. Don't expect to get a tour through the particular implementations of these databases - but from my reading this is more helpful than a hindrance.

Understand: this is a book destined to help readers understand the different types of classic houses they see in Seattle neighbordhoods. The book shows readers that... yes, that house across the street is an Italianate from the Victorian Era... and the one down the block is a Seattle Four-Square.But for those looking for an extensive collection of pictures... befores and afters... in black-and-white and in color... with examples of restoration and even "saved from the brink" stories... this is NOT the book you're looking for.Given there was nothing like this book, beforehand, a lot of credit has to be given for all the work that went into this book... from the collection of early photos, to the information on each house, and the general attempts to undertand each style.Classic American house styles (and not just in Seattle) had become a forgotten art form in the States, until the 1970s, when a young architect named Bob Vila, launched a seminal program on PBS for the restoration of old houses. And creating a boom both in the interest in America's family home patrimoine/heritage... but in the home restoration industry!Given the interest and knowledge people have, a book such as this fits right into the general need to appreciate and understand house styles.This is a very good book for understanding, in general, the different house styles. Of course, the term "classic" means those houses which had some sort of architectural movement attached to them. So don't expect anything looking at the earliest houses of Seattle (which may or may not still exist) from the Civil War era, which were simple, Nordic-inspired clapboard, frame houses, for example.Highly recommended for anyone who loves Seattle, and wants to have an understanding of the houses standing around in the classic neighborhoods of the city.

Seattle has a look defined by single-family homes of distinctive architectural styles. The author pins these down well. As of 2013, the more central of its neighborhoods such as Capitol Hill, First Hill, and Queen Anne are changing fast as high density condos and apartments are built, with relaxed height limits and parking space requirements. The Seattle look is endangered. The book helps define what the city has that should be protected.Complaint: the addresses of the homes in the photos is not on the page, and even finding it in the back of the book is difficult because of poor organization.

This book is beautifully made and extremely informative. If you are interested in the history and neighborhoods of Seattle and well as the various architecture this is your book. My only con is that it didn't include as many floor plans as I thought it would, but overall a good book.

This book covers the basic styles of homes seen in the SEATTLE areas, from around 1879 to around the 1950's.Many of the earlier homes have since been destroyed, so the author had to rely on archival photos. All those photos are, of course, in black and white.Then the author did a wonderful research job by showing the following architectural styles from the early 1900's to the 1950's.The reason that I give this book a 4-star,rather than a full 5-star rating, is because I wish the author had shown more photos of the LATER homes discussed, & that are still available in Seattle. Instead, the author showed one photo (mostly) of the later homes, when she surely could have included a few more photos of the LATER homes, since they are still available for photo-taking.The photos of the available (modern) homes, are all in black and white also ---not in color. I suppose the author wanted to show continuum throughout her book, so she chose to show all the book's photos (even the modern photos from 2004-2005) in black and white.

Have only looked through it at this point. Seems to be a pretty thorough history and explanation of Seattle architecture from beginnings to now---private homes, that is. Lots of black and white pictures, typical old plans for past popular styles, "then and now" pictures. Fun to look through, and informative

…..particularly about homes and the growth of communities, obviously here it would be Seattle. Not a "coffee table" book though, limited photos, most not of a size or quality that make it an indulgent book.

I'm the third owner of a 1908 house in downtown Seattle that has survived relatively unmolested. I was looking for details of how the house should have been decorated in the period and how I could make small changes to the house to make it functional, yet remain honest to the period. The book is great at showing the history and architecture of each period with nice photo examples inside and out. I only hoped there would be a little more detail about how to find an architect that specializes in restoring these types of homes.
