She is a tour guide et al. at the B&B, taking the visitors to historical sites around town.The house is full, and Georgie guides a group to a Civil War haunted house. The tour ends with the murder of a guest that leads Georgie into her whodunit mood.This novel is fun to read because of the character Georgie who is getting over a tragedy and is light-hearted about her surroundings but heavy-hearted about past events. She uses that to undo the mystery of Mr. Greens murder.Without present-day computer search, which she uses, the mystery would have been almost impossible to unravel. However, the answer arrives with a 'Deadly Intent,' not dealing with modern equipment but because of a Civil War book.This novel slants towards an Agatha Christie mystery. I will be reading more of the series in the future.
Georgie Tanner is recovering from a traumatic loss and is offered a home and solace from her adopted (unofficially) Grandmother, Cecilia. Cecelia owns a Bread and Breakfast in the Revolutionary War grounds of Gainesville, Pennsylvania. Georgie's job? A tour guide through various war sites.Georgie is overwhelmed when not only has she a mixed group, but, one of her charges get stabbed with a replica of a 1779 sword.This book was the first in a new series and I found that I enjoyed it a great deal. I liked Georgie and her Grandmother, and most of the characters were well developed. The dialog was snappy and the locations were edgy.I look forward to reading future episodes in Georgie's life as she heals and becomes whole again.
A mystery that keeps the reader guessing right to the end is always a great discovery to make.‘Cherry Pie Or Die’ is a cozy mystery with a great cast of characters, each of whom is carrying some relics of their own past while on a tour of historic sites in Pennsylvania. None are immediately obvious suspects, while the clues appear to make no sense at all. Georgie Tanner is a well-crafted and complex main character: likeable, smart, and flawed enough to allow the reader to both empathise with her and want to know more of her own story.With deft strokes, the author draws the threads of the story together without giving too much away, and the reader keeps puzzling away while looking over Georgie’s shoulder.By the end of the story, the reader feels right at home at the Baker St B&B, and is keen to return for the next mystery. I will definitely be back for another visit.
CeeCee James has written another good series. Just finished book 1 and have started book 2. She brings the characters to life.Georgie has moved back to her home town of Gainsville, PA to work at her Aunt Cecelia's B&B in the historic town. Georgie's primary job is to take the guests on tours of the area. Cecelia's grandson Frank Wagner is a cop, and he and Georgie grew up together. As you can tell by the title there is a murder. I never saw it coming, a complete surprise. Fun to read.

The Manor is believed to be haunted by a resident ghost, Capt. William Hayward.When the curator of the Manor, Mrs. Leslie Stilton is guiding the guests through the home and into the basement, the lights suddenly go out. When they get the lights back on, Michael Green is dead on the floor of knife wounds.With only the people above in the room, Sheriff Parker and Detective Frank Wagner, have their work cut out for them especially when all of them claim their innocence.This book is very cleverly written with many twists and turns and quirky characters. A must read for those who enjoy cozy mysteries.I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
